Plateltex PRP Gel

Batroxobin-based platelet gel preparation system

Plateltex's proprietary, patented process turns platelet-rich plasma into a gel with batroxobin. Batroxobin converts fibrinogen to fibrin through a more selective enzymatic mechanism than thrombin and does not activate platelets: growth factors are preserved while the gel is prepared and released slowly, in a controlled and gradual way, after application.

Highlights

  • Gelation with batroxobin: a fibrin network without platelet activation
  • Growth factors stay inside the platelets, with almost no loss to the surroundings
  • Slow, controlled and gradual release; a longer-lasting regenerative effect
  • Simplified use and standardised preparation
  • Safe to apply across clinical settings
  • A mouldable gel suited to topical application

Why batroxobin

A selective enzyme instead of thrombin

Clot formation needs fibrinogen to become fibrin; physiologically, thrombin drives that conversion. But thrombin is also a strong platelet activator, and a large share of the growth factors is released quickly into the surroundings and lost. Batroxobin converts fibrinogen through a different, more selective mechanism; platelets stay inactive, growth factors are preserved, and tissue healing gets a balanced regenerative effect.

  • Selective enzymatic mechanism
  • No platelet activation

What platelet gel is

From platelets to the lesion

Once the platelet fraction is enriched, calcium and a coagulant are added to start gelation. The resulting platelet-rich gel is applied directly to the lesion site; growth and healing factors released from the platelets reach the cells there, start the biological response and speed up tissue regeneration.
