g.Pangolin

Ultra-high-density EEG / EMG / ECG

The world's first ultra-high-density electrode grid and biopotential amplifier system. EEG, EMG and ECG recording with up to 1,024 channels; a centre-to-centre electrode distance of 8.6 mm gives exceptionally high spatial resolution.

  • Up to 1,024 channels
  • 8.6 mm electrode spacing
  • 24-bit · 38.4 kHz
  • g.HIamp compatible

Polygonal 16-channel electrode grids

g.Pangolin uses 16-channel electrode grids that are filled with conductive gel and fixed to the skin with an adhesive strip. The electrodes are polygonal, so up to 64 grids sit in perfect alignment. Electrodes on a grid are distributed at exact, fixed positions: far higher spatial resolution than conventional EEG systems.

  • 8.6 mm spacing
Motor cortex

Single-finger movements from 384 channels

Placing 24 electrode grids over the motor cortex yields 384 channels from that region alone, enough to tell individual finger movements apart. A task like this normally cannot be done with EEG and needs ECoG implants; g.Pangolin overcomes that limit non-invasively.

  • Non-invasive ECoG alternative

Source localisation

Resolution beyond conventional EEG

Systems of 64–256 electrodes used for source localisation space them around 60–65 mm apart. g.Pangolin's fixed 8.6 mm spacing gives roughly 7 times the spatial sampling density: brain mapping, epilepsy focus detection, high-frequency oscillations and central sulcus mapping. A set-up that takes 8 hours with 512 passive electrodes takes 30 minutes with g.Pangolin.
